Why Is My Card Not Supported for Certain Payments?

Credit card providers periodically apply category-based restrictions on certain payment processors.

This may result in:

  • Specific payment types being temporarily blocked

  • Certain merchant categories being restricted

  • Transactions being declined, even if they previously worked

These restrictions are applied at the card network level.


Is This Permanent?

Not necessarily.

These restrictions:

  • Are imposed by the card provider (e.g., Amex)

  • Are outside of Chexy’s control

  • May be lifted in the future

  • Do not have a guaranteed timeline

Chexy does not determine or manage these limitations.


What Can I Do?

You may:

  • Use a different credit card

  • Switch to another payment method (if supported by your payee)

  • Retry later in case restrictions are lifted
