Follow along with the video above to learn the three ways to send emails to volunteers for an event.
Option 1: To communicate with volunteers for a specific event, select the List of Events sub-tab under Calendar.
Under Daily Events, Select the event you want to send a message about.
Once in "Overview", scroll to the bottom of the page to "Registrations."
If you want to message one or more specific members, select the checkboxes next to the desired recipients. Your message will only send to them.
If you want to message all champions registered for your event, select the check box in the top right corner in the header. This will check off all of the members below.
Once you have selected the desired members, click the blue Message button above the dashboard on the left hand side.
A pop-up will appear, letting you know (1) the number of contacts selected under To: , (2) the Subject of the message, and (3) the Message box (along with an option to Send to Emails Only).
Check the Send to Emails Only option.
Once you are finished with the messages and content with the previews, select Send to send the emails. If you no longer want to email them, select Cancel.
Option 2: To communicate with all, or select volunteers separate from an event, select the Custom Messages sub-tab under Messages.
Once in custom messages, click the blue New Message button in the top right corner of the dashboard.
Select "Add Recipient" to show a drop down of all volunteers.
If you want to message all champions, select "All Volunteers". This will check off all of the members below.
If you want to message one or more specific members, select the names of the desired recipients- you can select as many as you'd like. Your message will only send to them.
On the right hand side, you can see the number of emails and SMS messages your new message will send.
Option 3: Emailing Volunteers from the Champion Overview Tab
First, you'll need to select the volunteers you want to send an email to.
If you want to message all Champions, click top left box (outlined in red) to select all volunteers.
If you want to message one or more specific members, select the names of the desired recipients- you can select as many as you'd like. Your message will only send to them. You can also filter the volunteers to send messages to volunteers with specific tags (as shown above).
Once you've selected your volunteers, Click on the "Message" box as shown above. In the message pop up, you'll see the exact number of emails you'll send on the right hand side. You can always select "Send to Emails Only" to control how your volunteers are notified.
