A statement shows a customer’s orders, payments and outstanding balance without creating a payable document. You can create one for an individual customer or a business account.
How to create a statement
Go to More > Statements.
Select New Statement in the top-right corner. A preview of the statement appears on the right.
On the left, choose the statement type: Customer or Business Account, then search for and select the account.
Set the Statement Period by choosing a date range.
Optional: turn on Email Statement to send it to the customer automatically.
Review the draft statement. It includes:
Opening Balance: the balance at the start of the period.
Payment History: every payment in the date range, including order and invoice payments.
Outstanding Orders: any unpaid orders in the period.
Select Create to finalize the statement.
After you create it, you can view the statement, download it as a PDF, or email it to the customer or business account.
Good to know
It isn’t an invoice. A statement gives an overview of orders and payments without creating a payable document, so it’s best for review.
Credit: statements show credit used for order payments.
Business accounts: a business account statement summarizes all the account’s orders but doesn’t show invoice details. To appear in it, invoices must be created and consolidated under the business account.
