All messages sent via Automated Care Messaging can target contacts in one of three ways:

  • Bulk sends to all residents or staff

  • Targeted sends via advanced filter options

  • Directly to any individual(s) selected by name

Use the Resident Status filter to communicate with new, current or discharged residents. For discharged patients, this will ensure residents are aware they are welcome back to the facility, resulting in:

  • Payment to the facility by Medicare; and,

  • Eliminating penalties to the home, hospital, etc. (where readmissions/emergency room visits may result in fines).

To use advanced search filters for one or more specific contacts:

  • Open a template and select To > Recipient Filters > Recipient Type

  • Under the filter options, select Resident Contacts

    • New: residents whose contact information is in the EHR, but have not yet moved in.

      • In Message Options: a Waiting List Status filter

    • Current: default audience

      • In Message Options: Payer Type includes Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Private, etc. (corresponds with PCC)

      • In Message Options: Patient Care Type allows the user to select Inpatient vs. Outpatient (default is inpatient)

    • Discharged: Options include

      • Discharged between DATE and DATE

      • Discharged after DATE

      • Discharged after X days

      • Discharged between X days ago and X days ago

        • In Message Options: select a Discharge Reason, Payer Type or Payer Care Type.

    • 💡NEW! Newly Admitted: Residents admitted within the last 60 days

      • Admitted between DATE and DATE

      • Admitted after DATE

      • Admitted after X days

      • Admitted between X days ago and X days ago

NOTE: Both "Discharged after X days" and "Admitted after X days" allow for the creation of recurring scheduled messages.

You can also find new Resident Status templates available in the Template Library.
