Something you're sure exists isn't showing up. In almost every case, one of the checks below explains it.
A run or result is missing
Check your filters. A status filter or search term on Moderation Runs may be hiding it. If you see "No runs match your filters," select Clear Filters.
Check both pages. One-time runs live under Moderation Runs; ongoing moderation lives under Automations.
The run may still be processing. A Running run shows partial results; a Pending one hasn't started yet.
It may have been deleted or renamed. Runs can be renamed and deleted from the row menu - search by date if the name changed.
An asset is missing from a run's results
Check the status tabs. You might be on Needs Review while the asset was Approved - switch to All.
Check the rule filter. If a specific rule is selected in the All Rules dropdown, only assets with results from that rule are shown.
Check the date filter. On an automation's results, a date range (for example, "Past 7 days") hides older results - switch it back to All dates.
The asset may not have been in the run's scope. Confirm it was in the selected folder or matched the search when the run started. Assets added to a folder after a one-time run won't be included - that's what ongoing moderation is for.
The asset may have failed processing. A deleted or unsupported file can error out while the rest of the run completes.
New uploads aren't being moderated
Is the automation Active? Check Automations - a Stopped automation processes nothing.
Does the upload match the scope? The folder (and any tag filters) must match what the automation watches - check Automation details in the row menu to see its trigger & scope.
Was the automation restarted recently? After you edit its rules or policy, an automation is stopped and restarted - and processes only new assets from that point.
Is ongoing moderation available on your plan? It's a Pro feature; without it, only one-time runs are possible.
A rule or policy is missing
Check filters and search on the Rules/Policies pages ("No rules match your filters").
Rules: the Status filter may be hiding Inactive rules - the rule may simply have been deactivated.
Policies: deleting a rule that was a policy's only rule deletes the policy too. Also check the asset type - image policies won't include video rules and vice versa.
It may have been deleted. Deletions are permanent; if the item was in use, whoever deleted it saw a warning listing what would be affected.
Metadata isn't on my assets
Was it saved? Results only reach your assets automatically if "Automatically write moderation result to Structured Metadata" is on in Settings - otherwise someone must select Save Metadata to Assets on the run.
Check the custom field mapping. If custom fields are enabled in Settings, results are written to your mapped fields, not the defaults. A mapped field that was deleted in Cloudinary shows an error in Settings.
Still stuck?
If none of the above explains it, contact Cloudinary support with a link to the run (row menu > Copy URL) or the name of the rule/policy in question.
