What Check-in Forms Are
Check-in forms are what your clients fill out on a regular schedule - weekly, bi-weekly, monthly - to report on their progress. They are the main feedback loop of your coaching.
Creating a New Check-in Form
Go to Forms in the sidebar
Click + New Form in the top-right corner
Select Check-in Form
Build your form with the fields and questions you want
Save and assign it as your active check-in form
You can have multiple check-in forms if you coach different client types or need different languages - but only one is active per client at a time.
What to Include
Take inspiration from the already created Check-in forms, if you need. Otherwise a solid check-in form typically covers:
Physical metrics: weight, measurements, progress photos
Ratings: energy, sleep, stress, hunger, mood, nutrition adherence (1-5 or 1-10 scale)
Open questions: wins, challenges, anything that didn't go as planned
Program feedback: how workouts felt, any exercises that caused issues
Custom metrics: anything specific to your coaching (sleep hours, steps, water intake, etc.). Also see our article on Metrics, if you need more help.
Keep the form structured so your client moves through it quickly. Check-ins are step-based, one question per screen, not a long scroll.
Note that an active check-in form - and the fields included - drive which metrics clients can log from the app. Meaning a client can only log photos and specific measurements, if they are included in the form.
Setting Check-in Frequency
Frequency is defined in Settings → Account → Check-in defaults, not on the form itself. You set:
Frequency: how often (e.g. every 1 week)
Period: the time unit (Week is standard)
Weekday: which day the check-in is due
You can override these per client if someone needs a different rhythm - for example bi-weekly or monthly for long-term maintenance clients.
Required vs. Non-Required Fields
Like onboarding forms, each field can be marked required or optional. For check-ins, we recommend keeping most fields optional except the core ones (e.g. weight, main ratings).
Duplicating a Check-in Form
You can duplicate any check-in form via the ⋯ menu. Useful for:
Different language versions
Different coaching phases (e.g. fat loss vs. maintenance)
Different program types (strength vs. hypertrophy)
What Happens After a Check-in Is Done
Once a client submits a check-in, it appears in two places:
Inbox: as a message in the chat
Development tab: on the client's profile with the full breakdown
You can review, respond, and mark as read from either place.

Recommendations
Use ratings for things you want to track over time.
Open-text answers are a good idea for context, but ratings give you patterns you can see quickly on the Development page.
Test your own form.
Create a test client for yourself and fill it out - you will spot awkward questions or missing fields fast.
Iterate based on what you actually use.
If there is a question you never look at in practice, remove it.
