Languages in Coachway

Coachway is used by coaches and clients across many countries, so here is how languages work in each part of the platform.

What your clients see in the app

Your clients choose their own language in the app when they set up their account. If they ever need to change they can always do so by going to Profile → Settings → Personal Information.

The app's menus, buttons, and system content follow their choice, so two clients on the same plan can use the app in two different languages.

Meal plans and recipes

Meal plans are not tied to a language. Recipes from the Coachway database are automatically shown in the language your client has selected in the app, so the same plan can appear in Norwegian for one client and English for another without you doing anything.

The exception is your own personal recipes and ingrediens. These are shown exactly as you wrote them and are not translated. If a plan for an English-speaking client includes your personal recipes, write those recipes in English (for example by creating an English copy and swapping it into the plan).

Forms, automations, and your own content

Everything you write yourself is shown in the language you choose. This includes onboarding forms, check-in forms, lead forms, automation messages, chat messages, plan names, and notes. There is no language setting for these; simply write them in the language your clients speak.

⚠️ Your coach dashboard

The coach dashboard is translated as well, so every menu, button, message, status and form in the platform follows your language.

Which language do I get? The dashboard automatically uses your own language. To change it, click your profile and go to Edit profile (click on your name in the bottom left).

Dates and names follow your language too. Dates are written the way they are in your language, for example “20. okt.” instead of “Oct 20”. Weekdays, language names and the standard meal names (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and so on) are translated as well.

Your own content stays as you wrote it. Meal names you have written yourself, and everything else you create, are not translated.
