The Instagram template will send a Direct Message and the drop link to fans when they comment a specific phrase or emoji on any Artist post. It still acts like a "normal" Drop, but just adds a third avenue for fans to access the link and interact Artists.
To set this up, you first need to go through Instagram Authentication to provide Cobrand access to DMs if you have not already done so. Click the Authentication button and follow the workflow to complete this step. After that, you will need to do a second step directly in Instagram:
Go to the Instagram profile and enter “Settings and Activity” from the top right
Go to “Messages and story replies”
Go to “Message controls”
Under Connected Tools, enable “Allow access to Messages”
Once you finish these steps, enter the phrase details and message. Keep in mind, the comment just needs to include the phrase - it does not need to be an exact match.
After commenting the phrase, fans will immediately receive two messages from the Artist's account. First, the post-sign up DM and second, a link to the drop itself.
Before you go public with a post asking fans to comment your key phrase, we recommend you test to ensure your message responses are working end-to-end.
You can do this by saving your Drop, and commenting the Key Phrase for Comment on an previous post on the Instagram account; if you receive a message it means the Comment Drop is ready to launch.
If Drop links sent in Instagram messages are not displaying properly or are not clickable, it could be due to other Instagram comment / messaging services being setup with the Instagram Business account. Disabling any other social media services connected to the Instagram account could resolve this issue.
