Overview

When users explore activities in your app, the Favourites feature allows them to save activities for later so that they can return to view or complete the activity again.

Users can simply tap the favourites icon next to any activity to add it to their favourites, or tap an already favourited activity to remove it from their favourites.

Enabling the favourites feature in your app can help create a tailored experience that adapts to individual user preferences and habits.

Step 1: Turn on Favourites in Settings

1. In Cogniss Creator, navigate to Settings in the left sidebar.

2. Scroll down until you locate the Activities setting. Select Use favorites to enable the favourites feature across your app.

3. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Configure the Favourites feature

1. In Label you can enter a custom title to determine how favourites are displayed in your app e.g., Reading List, Save for Later, Pinned. If no label is added the default label My favorite activities will appear in your app.

2. The default favourites icon in Cogniss is a star but if you would like to use a custom icon you can upload your designs in this setting. In Default Icon, you can upload an icon for non-favourited activities. The recommended size for the favourites icon is 96x96 pixels. To upload your asset, simply click on Upload media and upload your design in App files. Select your file and click Insert.

3. In Selected Icon, you can upload an icon for favourited activities. The recommended size for the favourites icon is 96x96 pixels. To upload your asset, simply click on Upload media and upload your design in App files. Select your file and click Insert.

4. Once you have updated the Favourites setting, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

5. Open your app to preview the Favourites feature and to test that it works as expected.

How users can view Favourites in your app

  • Favourites tab in Explore - when the Use favorites setting is enabled, users will see a Favourites tab on the Explore page of your app.

  • Favourite Activities Dashboard Widget - if added to your dashboard, users are provided with quick access to their favourite activities in the Favourite Activities dashboard widget.

  • Favourite activities in Me - when the Featured Activities dashboard widget is enabled, users can also see their favourite activities on the Me page of your app.
