What are Data Labels?

Data labels are an internal-only field (meaning your users won't see them) and are solely used for reference to the Content Blocks you have created. The labels are also useful when you are in Cogniss Insights, as you are able to identify/ locate the specific Content Block you want to look at and its corresponding user responses.

This is incredibly useful when you have set up questions (eg. for a survey) and want to see the responses from specific users.

What’s the best practice for using Data Labels?

When assigning Data Labels, we recommend considering the data you're collecting and how you want to interpret this data.

How can you best do this? We have a few tips for you…

  • If your Content Block is set up as a question, we recommended you add a prefix to distinguish this Content Block from the rest.(eg. Q-How did you find the meditation video?, C-Video content)

  • It is a best practice to be specific when creating Data Labels for your content rather than keeping it generic. For example:

    • ❌ wellbeing question 1

    • ✔️ Q1 wellbeing happiness

  • A good way to review your Data Labels is by viewing the data in Cogniss Insights. This lets you see the Data Label for a specific Content Block (question) and the corresponding user response.
