Creating a New Assessment
Step 1: Initiate New Assessment
Access the District Administrator dashboard.
Click on the "New Assessment" button.
Step 2: Configure Assessment Settings
Complete the assessment setup form with the following information:
Assessment title
Subject area
Grade level
Rubric
Distribution parameters (Schools and Courses)
Review all entered information for accuracy.
Create the assessment by clicking “Create Assessment”.
Step 3: Verify Draft Status
Navigate to the assessments list.
Confirm that your newly created assessment is in "DRAFT" status.
The assessment will remain in draft status until student responses are uploaded.
Importing Student Responses
Step 4: Export Data from Formative
Log into your Formative account.
Navigate to the relevant assessment or assignment.
Locate the student submissions section.
Select the export function for student submissions.
Step 5: Configure Export Format
Choose "Data Table" as the export layout.
Ensure the export includes the following required columns:
Teacher ID
Class ID
Student ID
Individual question responses
Complete the export process and download the file.
Step 6: Upload Student Responses
Return to your CoGrader assessment dashboard.
Select your draft assessment.
Click "Upload Student Responses."
Browse and select the exported file from Formative.
Step 7: Map Response Columns
Match each column from your exported file to the corresponding field in the platform.
Verify that all question responses are properly aligned.
Confirm the mapping configuration.
Processing and Managing Results
Step 8: Initiate Grading Process
Verify that your assessment status has changed to "Ready for Grading."
Click the "Start Grading" button to begin assessment.
Allow 2-20 minutes for processing, depending on the number of submissions.
Monitor the progress indicator until grading is complete.
Step 9: Access Completed Results
Navigate to the completed assessments section.
Locate your processed assessment.
Verify that grading has been completed successfully.
Analyzing and Distributing Results
Step 10: View Analytics Dashboard
Click "View Analytics" for your completed assessment.
Review the comprehensive analytics provided by CoGrader.
Apply filters if you uploaded submissions from multiple schools or classes.
Analyze performance metrics and assessment data.
Step 11: Generate Analytics Report
Configure any desired filters for your report.
Click "Export Report" to generate a PDF with the filtered data.
Download and save the report for your records.
Step 12: Download Detailed Results
Choose your preferred download format:
Download as CSV Format: Select for detailed analysis data suitable for spreadsheet applications
Download as PDF Format: Select for individual PDF grading reports for each student (comes as a zip file)
Click the appropriate download button to save the files.
Step 13: Notify Stakeholders
Locate the Mail icon in the results interface.
Choose from the following notification options:
"Notify Teachers": Send assessment completion alerts to instructors
"Send Results to Students": Distribute individual performance reports to students
Step 14: Teacher Notification Process
Select "Notify Teachers" from the mail options.
Teachers will receive an email prompting them to review assessment results.
Step 15: Student Results Distribution
Select "Send Results to Students" from the mail options.
Students will receive their individual results as PDF files via email.
