If you are using DMAC for assessment delivery and rubric scoring, you can import your DMAC student data into CoGrader using our DMAC import utility.

This guide walks you step by step through exporting from DMAC and importing into CoGrader.

Overview

The process has three parts:

  1. Export from DMAC as a PDF

  2. Upload that PDF to the CoGrader DMAC Import Tool

  3. Import the generated CSV file(s) into CoGrader

This utility converts your DMAC export into a format that works with CoGrader’s Quiz Grader or Essay Grader.

Step 1: Export the Data from DMAC

First, log in to DMAC and open the assessment you want to grade.

  • Go to the assignment or test.

  • Click into Rubric Scoring.

  • Select All Students.

  • In the top right corner, click Print.

Important Print Settings

When the Print Options window opens, select:

  • By Student, Number

  • Make sure “condensed (multiple per page)” is NOT checked

  • Do not select other display options

Then click Print.

These settings are required. The import tool will not work correctly if the export is condensed or formatted differently.

DMAC will generate a PDF file. Download this file to your computer.

Step 2: Upload the PDF to the CoGrader DMAC Import Tool

Go to:

On this page:

  1. Upload the PDF file you exported from DMAC.

  2. The tool will process the file.

  3. Download the generated CSV output.

What You’ll Receive

Depending on the type of assessment:

  • Quiz-style assessments → You will receive a single CSV file for Quiz Grader.

  • Essay assessments → You may receive multiple CSV files, one for each rubric item.

Download the generated file.

Step 3: Import into CoGrader

Now import the CSV file into CoGrader.

In CoGrader:

  1. Create a new class and assignment, or open an existing one.

  2. Choose the Import from CSV option.

  3. Upload the CSV file generated by the DMAC import tool

  4. Happy Grading! 🎉
