Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Install the Extension

  1. Open Google Chrome and go to the Chrome Web Store.

  2. Search for "CoGrader". You'll see three options: CoGrader for Schoology, CoGrader for Canvas, and CoGrader for Blackboard.

  3. Select CoGrader for Blackboard, or just follow this link.

  4. Click Add to Chrome and confirm the installation.

Step 2: Open the Grade Center in Blackboard

  1. Log in to Blackboard and select the course you want to grade.

  2. On the left-hand panel, go to Grade Center, then select Full Grade Center.

  3. You'll see a list of all your students along with the assignments at the top.

  4. Find the assignment you want to grade. An assignment that has already been graded shows "View Submissions", while one that hasn't been graded yet shows "Grade with CoGrader"

  5. Click "Grade with CoGrader", then select "Send to CoGrader" on the pop-up.

  6. On the next pop-up, click "Continue". CoGrader will send the assignment information across and then redirect you to CoGrader.

Step 4: Select Your Rubric and Grade

  1. Make sure you're already signed in to CoGrader so it doesn't prompt you to sign in again. Once sending is done, it redirects you to the CoGrader page.

  2. Set your grading parameters. You can keep the imported Schoology rubric or select a different rubric from your CoGrader library.

  3. Click Import and Grade to begin AI-powered grading. Grading usually takes about a minute or two.

Step 5: Review the Results

  1. Once grading is complete, open a submission to see the student's writing alongside the feedback and scores.

  2. Review the feedback and grades for accuracy.

  3. Adjust the feedback or grades as needed, just like you would in CoGrader.

  4. Click Approve when you're satisfied.

Step 6: Send Feedback Back to Blackboard

  1. Click the "Send to Blackboard" button to export the graded work.

  2. Click the pop-up that appears at the top and select "Open in Blackboard". This brings up the Full Grade Center.

  3. Find the student you graded. You'll see the score CoGrader gave them.

  4. Click the drop-down arrow beside the score and select "View Grade Details" to open the student's work and see all the feedback CoGrader provided, the same as it appears in CoGrader. You can make changes here if you want to by clicking on "Edit Grade".
