If your school uses Moodle, you can still use CoGrader to grade student work and provide personalized feedback. This guide walks you through exporting submissions from Moodle, grading them in CoGrader, and returning feedback to students.
Step 1: Export Student Submissions from Moodle
Open the assignment you want to grade.
Click View all submissions.
Select Download all submissions.
Moodle will generate a ZIP file.Download and extract the ZIP file.
You will now have one file per student, usually labeled with their username or full name.
Make sure student names remain clearly labeled in the file names before uploading to CoGrader.
Step 2: Upload Submissions to CoGrader
Log in to your CoGrader account.
Create a new class or select an existing class.
Create a new assignment manually.

CoGrader will automatically match file names to student names when possible.
Step 3: Grade and Review in CoGrader
Once uploaded:
Select or create your rubric.

Review and edit feedback as needed.

You remain in full control of final grades and comments.
Step 4: Return Feedback to Moodle
Export feedback from CoGrader as individual PDFs.
In Moodle, open the assignment and click Grade.
Upload the feedback PDF in the Feedback files section for each student.
Enter the final grade in Moodle’s gradebook.
Some Moodle versions allow bulk upload of feedback files. If available, this can save time.
Using this workflow, you can continue using Moodle while benefiting from CoGrader’s AI-powered grading and personalized feedback.
