How to add a new rubric

Follow these step-by-step instructions to effortlessly create a custom rubric that meets your specific needs using Cograder.

1. Click on "Rubrics"

2. Click on "Add rubric."

3. You can select a template.

4. And choose one from our list.

If you choose a template, you can edit it later and tailor it to your needs.

5. Or create a new rubric by clicking "New rubric."

You can also start from scratch and copy and paste your rubric. Select the option "New rubric".

6. Name your new rubric.

Navigate to the "Rubric name" section and edit the name. If you select a template, the name of the rubric template will be displayed, which you can modify.

7. Now, you will add the rubric criteria.

For each criterion, you can add as many levels as you want. You must provide at least one level per criterion.

8. Name your first criterion.

9. Add the criterion explanation.

Add the explanation for that criterion. Be as specific as possible.

10. Add levels to the criterion.

You must add at least one level for each criterion.

11. Provide the points assigned to this level.

12. Fill in the explanation for when points are earned or not.

It's essential to be clear on when a point is earned and when it is not. Please be as specific as possible.

13. Add as many levels as you'd like.

Click "Add level" for additional levels for that criterion.

15. After you have finished filling out the criteria, press the "Create" button.

Now, your rubric is saved in CoGrader! You'll be able to come back and edit it later. You can use your rubrics in any assignment inside CoGrader.
