Step 2: Click "Create manually".

Step 3: Fill in the class name, assignment name and prompt, then pick a grade level and a rubric.

Step 4: In the Student submissions section, click Google Drive.

Step 5: Click "Continue with Google".

Step 6: Log in to your Google Account.

Step 7: Select the assignment folder you want to upload from. See here:

Step 8: Upload img, pdf, zip, or html files with the student submission(s) you want to grade.

Unable to Continue Without Submissions

If you click Continue without submissions before completing the required assignment details, CoGrader will prompt you to go back and complete them first.

Make sure you’ve filled in Class name, Assignment name, and Prompt.

Once these are complete, you can continue without adding submissions.

Note: If you use Microsoft Teams, student work may be accessible through OneDrive, so you can click OneDrive in the Student submissions section to add submissions to CoGrader. If downloading submissions individually from Teams is time-consuming and your school also uses Turnitin, you can download the submissions from Turnitin and upload them to CoGrader instead.

Troubleshooting Google Drive uploads

The Google Drive button doesn't work

  • You'll find the Google Drive button in the Student submissions section when you create an assignment, or under Add Submissions on an existing assignment.

  • Refresh your browser and try again.

  • Make sure pop-ups are enabled for CoGrader. Google’s authentication flow opens in a new window.

You’re stuck at “Continue with Google”

  • Double-check you’re logged into the correct Google account.

  • If you're using multiple accounts, try logging out of the others or using an Incognito window.

Can’t find your assignment folder in Google Drive

  • Open Google Drive first to check the folder exists and contains student files in a supported format.

Some files didn’t upload

The page freezes or won’t proceed to grading

  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, then reload the page.

  • Chrome works best with CoGrader. Try switching browsers if issues persist.
