Conversion FAQ's:

Before you jump in, here are a few quick answers to help you understand how conversion partnerships work:

What is a conversion partnership?

A conversion partnership is an agreement where you pay a partner based on a specific result that happens on your website or sales funnel.

Instead of paying for leads submitted through comarketing, you’re paying for actions that happen on your website and are tracked in comarketing.

What are the conversion types?

Conversion types in comarketing include:

  • Clicks (traffic to your site)

  • Leads (form submissions captured on your website)

  • Appointments (booked on your website)

  • Sales/purchases

Each agreement is tied to a tracked action that you define ahead of time. You set what counts as a conversion and only pay when that result occurs.

What's a conversion partnership vs lead partnership?

Conversion agreements and lead agreements both involve partners, but they work differently:

  • Lead Partnerships

    • Leads are submitted directly through comarketing

    • One partner sends leads, the other receives them

    • The interaction happens fully inside the platform

    • Payment for leads is required when lead is sent

  • Conversion Partnerships

    • Activity happens on your external website or funnel

    • Tracking and conversion type are assigned prior to sending partnership invitations

    • Comarketing.com tracks conversions, as defined in partnerships

    • Partners are paid based on tracked results, not lead submissions

    • Payment for conversions are charged once a day, in one bulk sum

If you’re looking to track outcomes on an external website, you’ll use a conversion partnership.

How do conversion partnerships work?

Conversion partnerships are defined by 3 main sections: set up, invitations, and partner activity:

  • Set Up:

    • You install tracking on your website

    • You define what action counts as a conversion

    • You set how much you’ll pay per result

  • Invitations:

    • You invite partner(s) to promote you

  • Partner Activity:

    • Your partner receives and shares a unique tracking link

    • comarketing tracks what happens after someone clicks

    • You pay only when the defined result occurs

Before You Begin

⚠️ Required Setup: Install Tracking Script

You cannot create a conversion partnership unless your tracking script is properly installed.

Comarketing uses tracking script configured in your account to define what counts as a conversion and track those actions on your website.

Without Tracking:

  • Partners can receive your invite, but no conversions will track

  • You won't be able to define what counts as a conversion

  • Payouts can't be triggered

  • The partnership will not function as intended

If you haven’t installed tracking yet, follow this guide: Set up conversion tracking.

Once your tracking script is verified AND conversion pages are added, you’re ready to invite partners!

Creating Your Conversion Partnerships

Once your script is verified, you can Invite a Partner. Head to the Partners tab and select Invite Partner.

Partnership Tip:

Conversion partnerships pay your partner for every result they generate using their unique link. By default, a “conversion” means the link was clicked and the user landed on your verified site.

If you’d like to track additional actions like an appointment or sale, you’ll need to select Conversion Pages and Conversion Types.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In Comarketing Mode, click Invite Partner

  2. Enter your partner’s details
    - Fill in their name and email
Choose which site they’ll be promoting.
⚠️ If your site does not appear, return to "Required Setup: Install Tracking Script"

  3. Select your fee split
Choose how platform fees will be paid between you and your partner.

We recommend the person being paid for conversions pay fees, which are roughly 12-13% of the transaction. Choosing this would deduct fees from your partner's payout.

  4. Set your pricing
Choose your price per conversion and enter a monthly budget to cap spending.

  5. Choose one of the conversion objectives you set up earlier.

    • This defines what counts as a conversion (e.g., lead, appointment)

    • The corresponding page/path will autofill based on your setup.

  6. Send your invitation

  7. Wait for acceptance
Your invitation will show as pending (in Partners & Invitations) until your partner accepts the invite.

They can search for an email from notifications@comarketing.com

Once the invitation is accepted, conversions will begin tracking automatically!

What your partners will see

What’s Next?

Once your partner accepts the invitation, they’ll receive an email with their unique tracking link and any media you’ve provided - conversion tracking begins automatically.

Reach out to confirm they’re set up and ready to start sharing! 📲 💻

A few things to keep in mind:

  • You’re only charged when a tracked conversion occurs (not for link sharing)

  • Your partner’s own clicks/IP address are excluded from tracking automatically

  • All activity is tracked in comarketing and visible in your dashboard

You can monitor clicks, conversions, and overall performance in real time, making it easy to manage your partnerships.
