Setting up Automatic Treatment

Check out how to activate automatic in restrictive lists!

We know that the volume of checks can generate a long queue of possible matches in the restrictive lists, often made up of results that have no real relation to the name analyzed.

This is why automatic processing is an essential way of speeding up this process. It allows the system to automatically classify names that belong to an Entity, Institution, Vessel or Aircraft as a "false match".

In this way, the system prevents these unnecessary names from being included in the analysis queue, allowing it to focus only on high-risk and relevant matches.

➡️Access Dataset Dossier

Access the menu on the left under "Sanctions Screening" and then "Datasets". Locate the name of the dataset you wish to access under 'Dataset Name':

Next, under 'Verified against the following Restricted Lists', you can define some information:

  1. Under 'Manage restricted lists', you define against which lists the system will compare the information from that Dataset. To choose these lists, simply click on "Manage restricted lists". When the window opens, simply check or uncheck the restricted lists you want the Dataset to use for cross-referencing.

  2. Under "Automatic Treatments", you need to define which categories of the restrictive list the system should automatically classify as false matches.

By marking a category, the system understands that all names found in that category, for example Vessel, can be automatically treated as false positives, without the need for manual review.

The available category categories are currently only on the OFAC lists, which are: Entity, Individual, Vessel and Aircraft.

Before applying the automatic treatment, define whether you want to apply it to all records or only to those created since that date.

  • Apply for all applies the automatic treatment to all existing records in the dataset. In other words, the system will reprocess the records and automatically mark as false matches the names that fall into the selected categories.

  • Apply for future, applies the automatic treatment only to records created from this date onwards. Previous records remain unchanged and will need to be reviewed manually if they appear as possible matches.
