Summary

  1. In the Cost Overview tile, you can visualize the estimated cost chart by components or by cost classification system. If you sort the cost by component, you can drill down further and highlight certain components, or toggle them on and off from the legend. You can easily see the effect of the risk items created in Risk Register on the project cost.

  2. When you sort by classification system, you can calibrate versus other projects. Click on Add Compare to add the projects you want to include in the cost comparison. The normalization window is also available to bring cost estimates to this project's location and current date.

  3. The ForeSite Decision over Time gives you a high level overview of value optioneering items. Start by specifying whether you want to focus on VO items for the entire project or for one component. Then focus the timeline on a specific time interval from the date selector or use the handles at the bottom of the tile. Looking at these charts you can easily visualize the cost implications of VO items.

  4. The Cost Variance Analysis tile is a great tool to visualize the changes in the estimates between milestones and compare them to the initial budget. You can look at all components at once or select certain components to focus on.

  5. In the Program Overview tile, you can hover over each of the bars for more details on the components costs. You can also control their visibility by using the legend.

  6. The Decision Analysis per Component is another way to display the effect of ForeSite items on each component. Focus on the VO items that add to the project cost, or those that deduct from the cost. You can also look at a Summary window of the cost implications of ForeSite items.
