How to address estimate upload errors?

Updated this week

Video

Summary

  1. One of the errors that you might encounter is a missing format. This is caused by inconsistent column headings in your uploaded Excel file. To fix this error, open the Format dropdown menu, and choose Map New Format. Then input the column name that contains your format or classification. You can either write it manually, or copy and paste it. Then choose the appropriate format, and click Create.

  2. Once all formats are properly mapped, click Rerun.

  3. In a similar way, if you run into any errors related to missing fields, you can map the column heading from your uploaded Excel file into the appropriate fields in ConCntric. You can do this by copy and pasting the column heading, or by directly typing it into the text field. Once all fields are mapped, click Rerun so ConCntric can validate your uploaded file.

  4. Once all headings are properly mapped, you can start creating your components. You will always get this error the first time you upload an estimate file. To create a component, click the Create button next to it, and fill out all relevant information.

  5. Continue by creating all components. Here you can either create a new component, or replace it with one you already created.

  6. Once you are done creating all components and fixing any mapping issues, you should see no errors, and you can proceed to publishing your estimate, assigning programs, and inviting members.

FAQ

Do I have to map the columns headers for every estimate?

As long as estimate format and column headers are consistent in any estimate iterations the fields noted at initial import will be assumed.

Why do I have to enter a Budget and Component Area?

Components in ConCntric represent cost breakouts in your estimate, typically this is by location or major building system (ex. Main Building, Amenity, Site). When creating each you are required to identify each Component's Budget and Area as it relates to the Project Budget and Overall Area you identified earlier in project setup or at Details.

What are component attributes?

Component Attributes are configurable characteristics, measurables or data points that you want to collect at the Component level. These are key when benchmarking in Calibrate and creating concept estimates in Concept Hub, contact your admins to see what Attributes your team wants to capture.
