How to Edit Conversations

Contented offers robust editing features, allowing you to refine and enhance your uploaded conversations for greater accuracy and clarity.

Contented offers flexible options for editing your conversations, from quick adjustments to in-depth refinements. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Accessing the Conversation

  • In the "Insights", "Human-Centred", or "Marketing" module, click the "Choose a Recording" dropdown menu.

  • Select the desired recording, or start typing to search for it. Clicking on a recording title will select this recording for you to use to generate outputs.

Quick Edits within a Module

When you select a recording, you can quickly edit the attendees:

  1. Click "Edit Attendees": This button is located next to the Attendees section.

  2. Modify the Attendee List: Add, remove, or correct attendee information in the pop-up window. You can manually add attendees, use a saved group, or correct existing entries.

  3. Save Changes: Click "Save" to apply your changes.

This quick edit option is ideal for minor adjustments to the attendee list without leaving the module.



Full Editing via Conversation Management

For more comprehensive editing, including speaker identification and entity review, access the Conversation Management page:

Click "View Details"

Within the conversation dropdown menu , select "View Details" next to the recording you wish to edit. This will take you to the Conversation Management page.


Conversation Management Page Overview

This page provides a full view of the conversation, including:

  • Full Transcript: The complete, time-stamped transcript of the conversation.

  • Chapter Summary (if generated): A concise summary of the key topics discussed in each chapter of the conversation.

  • Download Options: Buttons to download the full transcript as a text file or the original audio recording.

  • Copy Transcript Button: Allows you to copy the entire transcript text for use in other applications.

  • Conversation Information Bar: Located at the top, displaying the date of the conversation, the number of speakers and attendees, and options for editing.


Editing Options within Conversation Management

Edit Attendees

The "Attendees" icon in the Conversation Information Bar provides the same functionality as the quick edit option, allowing you to add, remove, or correct attendee information.

Edit Speakers

The "Speakers" icon lets you name or correct the speakers identified in the transcript. Accurate speaker attribution is essential for clear and meaningful insights.

Review & Edit Entities

The "Entities" icon allows you to review and correct automatically detected names, companies, and locations. This ensures accuracy and helps Contented understand the context of your discussions.


Downloading and Copying

Contented provides several options for downloading and using your conversation data outside the platform. Within the Conversation Information Bar, when "Transcript" is selected you will be able to utilise the below functionality:

Download Transcript

Click the "Download Transcript" button. This will download a text file containing the complete, time-stamped transcript of your conversation. This text file can be easily opened and edited in any text editor or word processor. This is useful for:

  • Sharing the conversation record with others who may not have access to Contented.

  • Archiving the conversation for future reference.

  • Performing further analysis or manipulation of the text outside of Contented.

  • Incorporating the transcript into other documents or presentations.

Download Audio

Click the "Download Audio" button. This will download the original audio file of your conversation. This allows you to:

  • Keep a backup copy of the original audio.

  • Listen to the conversation offline.

  • Use the audio in other audio editing or analysis software.

  • Share the audio recording directly with others.

Copy Transcript

Click the "Copy" button. This copies the entire text of the transcript to your clipboard. From there, you can:

  • Paste the transcript directly into an email, document, or other application.

  • This is a quick and convenient way to share specific parts of the conversation or use the text in other contexts without downloading a separate file.


Choosing the Right Editing Method

  • Quick Edits: Use for minor attendee adjustments within a module.

  • Conversation Management: Use for comprehensive editing, including speakers, entities, and accessing downloads.

By understanding these editing options, you can efficiently refine your Contented conversations for maximum accuracy and insight generation.
