Let's get started!

In order to sell your products on CopeCart, you need to select the right product type and your product must comply with CopeCart's policies. If a product violates any law, regulation or the rules, it will be blocked.

Product types:

Digital products

Online accessible products are digital products that can be downloaded or viewed. These include, but are not limited to, webinars and their recordings, e-learning materials, video and audio files, digital art and templates, graphics, and access to member areas. Mobile/desktop apps and software are also digital products.

Note: Digital services must be created as a digital product, otherwise taxing them will not work, at the recipient's end. In order to be sold at CopeCart, the service recipient must be domiciled in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

Note: E-book is an independent product type.

Note: When purchasing a digital product, the standard VAT rate of the purchasing country applies.

Physical products

Physical products are products that are shipped by mail or through a delivery service. Basically, this means anything that can be shipped, including but not limited to: Clothing, shoes, tools, furniture, accessories, jewelry, art, etc.

Printed books and magazines, even if considered physical products, belong to a different product type due to the reduced tax rate.

  • Weapons, as well as medicines and dietary supplements are also prohibited (including pills, powders, juices, oils, syrups, etc.). Currently, physical products can only be sold and shipped from Germany.

Note: When purchasing physical products, the standard VAT rate of the sender country applies (i.e. 19%).

Printed books

This includes books and/or magazines that are sent by mail or delivery service. Currently, physical books can only be sold and shipped from Germany.

Note: When purchasing printed books, a reduced VAT rate of the sender country applies (i.e. 7%).

E-books

E-books in all supported formats can be either downloaded or used online. Due to specific tax regulations, e-books are not considered digital products.

Note: When purchasing e-books, the reduced VAT rate of the country of purchase applies.

Seminars/Events

This type of product requires the physical presence of the event attendees. The seminar held online is a webinar and is considered a digital product, as are its recordings. For now, only seminars and events held in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can be sold on CopeCart.

IMPORTANT! For the services and seminars, make sure that the location (and thus on the tax rate) are created when the product is created and not when the buyer selects his country.

Note: When purchasing this type of product, the standard VAT rate of the seminar or event country applies.

Services

Physical services are provided in person and charged at the VAT rate of the service country. To be sold on CopeCart, the physical service must take place in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

IMPORTANT! For services and seminars, make sure that the location (and thus on the tax rate) are created when the product is created and not when the buyer selects his country.

Digital services must be created as a digital product, otherwise the tax will not be paid by the recipient.

Note: Online courses and video coaching are digital products.

Rejected products

Products are rejected in two cases:

  • They belong to the list of prohibited products

  • One or a few mandatory parameters from the product details or support email are missing

If you are sure that your product complies with all guidelines and regulations and is absolutely legal, please check if you have set the next mandatory parameters for the product to be approved:

  • Product name

Please note that the product must have a detailed description and a picture, as these will help affiliates and customers to visually highlight your product and create interest. Customers also want to understand what they will get from the product when they purchase it and what the benefits of the product itself are.

  • Product image

  • Support email address

Go to your settings and select "Account Settings". Scroll down to your support email address box and enter your email address there, which your customers will be able to view on your checkout page and email you with any questions.

We wish you good luck with creating/editing your products.
