Editing Customer Information

You can edit basic customer information from either the Corksy Admin Portal or the Corksy POS.

1. Access the Customer Profile

  • Log in to either the Admin Portal or POS

  • Click Customers in the left-hand sidebar

  • Use search or scroll to find the customer

  • Click the Actions dropdown next to their name

  • Select Edit

2. What You Can Edit

In the Corksy Admin Portal, you can update:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Date of birth

  • Shipping preference company

  • Class

  • Tags

  • Internal notes

  • Marketing email opt-in

  • Shipping addresses

  • Payment methods

In the Corksy POS, you can update:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Date of birth

  • Class

  • Tags

  • Internal notes

  • Marketing email opt-in

  • Shipping addresses

  • Payment methods

Make sure to save after any changes.

Managing Shipping Addresses

Shipping addresses can be edited from both the Admin Portal and the POS.

How to Update:

  • Follow the steps above to access the customer profile

  • Scroll to the Shipping Addresses section

  • You can:

    • Add a new address

    • Edit or delete an existing address

    • Set an address as primary

Note: You cannot delete a shipping address if it is assigned to a payment method. You must first change or remove the payment method.

Managing Payment Methods

Payment methods can also be managed from both the Admin Portal and POS.

How to Update:

  • Navigate to the customer profile

  • Scroll to the Payment Methods section

  • For each payment method, you can:

    • Add a new card

    • Change billing address

    • Set as primary

    • Delete a card

Note: You cannot delete a payment method if it is tied to an active wine club membership. You'll need to manage that under the Wine Club tab first.

Tip:

Each card includes a created date to help identify the most recent payment method.

What Customers Can Change on Their Own (eCommerce)

Customers can manage limited account details on your Corksy website after logging in.

They can:

  • Add or update shipping addresses

  • Add or update payment methods

  • Set new entries as primary

They cannot:

  • Change first name, last name, or email address — only staff can update these via the Admin Portal or POS

Resetting a Customer’s Password

You can reset a customer’s password through the Corksy Admin Portal, or the customer can do it themselves via the eCommerce site.

eCommerce/Website Reset (Customer):

  • Customers can reset their own password by going to the login page on your eCommerce site

  • From there, they should click “Forgot password”

  • They’ll receive an email with a link to reset their password

Admin Reset (Staff):

  1. Log in to the Corksy Admin Portal

  2. Click Customers

  3. Search for the customer

  4. Click the Actions dropdown next to their name

  5. Click Change Password

  6. Enter and confirm the new password

  7. Click Save

This is especially useful if the customer is unable to reset their password or needs help accessing their website account.
