How to Create a Customer in the Corksy POS

This article walks you through how to create a customer profile directly in the Corksy Point of Sale (POS) system.

1. Log In to the Corksy POS

You’ll need to use a designated POS user account. You can access the POS in two ways:

  • Visit the POS URL directly (provided by your team)

  • Or log into the Corksy Admin Portal and click Open POS under the Point of Sale section in the left sidebar

2. Open the Customers Section

  • Click the menu icon in the top left (three horizontal lines)

  • Click the people icon

  • Select Customers

3. Create a New Customer

  • Click the Create Customer button

  • The form is nearly identical to the one in the admin portal

4. Fill Out Customer Details

  • Fields with a red asterisk are required

  • The Email Address must be unique (this serves as the customer’s identifier)

  • Note: The “Shipping Preference Company” field from the admin portal is not available here

5. Add Optional Details

  • Class: Choose one of the following roles:

    • Wine Club member

    • Employee

    • Customer

  • Tags: Custom labels you create to organize customers. Tags can include a title and description.
    Note: You’ll need to create tags before assigning them to customers.

  • Notes: Internal-only notes. These are visible to staff but not to the customer.

6. Save the Customer

Click Save to create the customer profile. You can optionally continue to add address or payment method information.

How to Add Address and Payment Methods

1. Switch to Address and Payment Methods

  • On the customer form, scroll to the bottom

  • Click Switch to Address and Payment Methods

2. Add Address

  • Enter the shipping/billing address

  • Check Set as Primary Address if needed

3. Set Marketing Preferences (Optional)

  • If the customer agrees to receive marketing emails, check the consent box

4. Add a Payment Method (Optional)

  • After saving the customer, you can click Add New Card

  • Enter the billing and credit card info

  • You can optionally check Set as Primary Payment Method

5. Final Save

Click Save to complete the process. Your customer is now fully set up in the Corksy POS.
