Create And Send Email Automations
Updated over a week ago

Email automations are a series or sequence of emails, sent automatically after a contact takes an action on your website, for example: signing up for a freebie or lead magnet.

Email automations can be triggered to be sent when a tag is added or removed from a contact, a contact is added to a list or removed from a list or when a contact's properties are changed.

Watch the video below to learn how to create an email automation.

Create a New Automation

To create a new automation navigate to Emails & Automations > Automations > Create Automation

Start by giving the automation you are creating a clear name and click Submit

Once you have created your new automation, you can start by adding a trigger that will start your automation sequence, in the below example we used the When Tag is Added option and then select the Tag to kick off the automation when someone signs up to a Freebie

Next you will be adding the next step of your automation, we added a delay of 2 days as the next step in the example below:

Next, click on the + sign and add your next step, in the example below we opted for Send Email:

Add all the information on the Step Settings pop-up and click on Start Building the Email:

Select the email template you would like to use and edit the content of the email:

After you have edited the email content click Save, you will then have the option to send a test email to see what it looks like or edit the email again:

When you are done creating your automation click Save and turn the toggle button to On, the automation will remain inactive until it is switched to On:

💡Tip:

Be careful not to edit or open a Delay in an active automation once someone has entered that automation already. This will result in the automation not working properly and will cause confusion within the automation. Try to have your automation exactly as it should be and complete it before switching on the automation.
