INTRODUCTION

  • Feature Summary: Use the Misc POS item code for unclassified items.

  • Use Cases: System users can use this generic item type at the checkout for products or services that do not have their own unique POS item codes. This time-saving feature lets system users quickly process a transaction without creating a unique POS item.

PREREQUISITES

Know how to launch the POS page. Create a POS item called MISC (along with a MISC Item Category, MISC Revenue Category), and a tax rate.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

First, create a MISC category and then create a MISC item.

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Go to the side menu and click POINT OF SALE > ITEM CATEGORIES.

  3. On the next page, click the Create Item Category button.

In the Create Item Category window:

  1. Enter a name in the field (e.g. Misc).

  2. Optionally, click the Revenue Category field and select an option. In the screenshot below, the system user created a revenue category called MISC.

  3. Click Save Changes.

CourtReserve adds the MISC row to the table.

Next, create a MISC item.

  1. Go to the side menu and click POINT OF SALE > ITEM LIST.

  2. On the next page, click the Create Item button.

On the next page, fill in the fields and click Save. Be sure to:

  1. Select the MISC Category created above.

  2. Click the Tax Rate(s) field and select an option.

  3. Select the correct Revenue Category for this item.

  4. Uncheck the Track Stock box because this is a generic item code with no specific stock to track.

CourtReserve adds the MISC item to the table.

Using the Misc item code at the checkout

  1. Launch the POS.

  2. Select the MISC box.

Click the Add to Cart button.

Click the Discount icon to set the price of the item.

Enter the item's price in the OVERRIDE PRICE field and then click Save.

CourtReserve adds tax (if applicable). Click Checkout.

Add a member name and a note (both optional). Select a payment method and click Process Sale and Yes in the confirmation popup.

FEATURE USAGE - USERS' PERSPECTIVE

If the POS transaction was assigned to a member, CourtReserve displays the sale on the member's Transaction Details page.
