Create a Default Template to Set Up New Locations

INTRODUCTION

PREREQUISITES

  • You have at least one full (all settings complete) location and an active subscription.

  • Your organization is set up as an Enterprise.

  • At least one person in your Enterprise holds the role of Enterprise Manager. If you cannot create this role, contact the Customer Success team.

WHAT IS A LOCATION TEMPLATE?

It's a time-saving tool for operations that want to add locations. Instead of building a new location from scratch, the Enterprise Manager can create a new location by copying the Location Template.

The template acts like a parent file. The settings and requirements in the parent become the template for all new organizations.

If you are an Enterprise Manager and do not see Location Template in your Enterprise Dashboard (and would like to use it to create new locations) please contact Support.

CREATING YOUR LOCATION TEMPLATE

Once you have created your first location and CourtReserve recognizes you as an Enterprise, you can set up a Location Template.

In the left navigation, locate the Enterprise tab and enter the Enterprise Dashboard.

Once on the Enterprise Dashboard, locate the Location Template in the left navigation.

If a Location Template does not exist, a popup prompts you to create one. In the drop-down menu, choose the location with the settings you want to copy. Then, create the template.

During the copying process, the original enterprise location and its setup do not change. You are simply copying the settings to create a default template for new locations added in the future.

ACCESSING & CHANGING THE LOCATION TEMPLATE

After the Location Template is created, you can change it at any time via the Location Template link in the left navigation.

Changes made to the Location Template are NOT mass-updated across existing locations. The changes only apply to locations that you create after saving the updates.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE LOCATION TEMPLATE?

The Location Template copies some but not all elements from the parent location. Here is a list of items included and not included in the location template.

Included in the Location Template

These items will be set up/created in each new location.

Organization Settings

  • General Settings

  • System Users- Setup Template Users fro creating Sub-Admins in your locations. DO NOT add user accounts to the Location Template. It will not copy them as users to new created locations. Only Templates can be created for creating new users. See article.
