Unlocking New Features for Smarter Cost Management!
In this release, we’ve introduced several exciting updates and improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience and streamlining cloud cost management. From upgrades to account management and cost group creation to a more intuitive visualization of cost drivers, this update delivers powerful features that provide deeper insights and greater control over cloud spending.
Let’s take a look at what's new!
🆕CSP Management V3
Let’s take a look at the updated version of the account management page. In this version, you'll be greeted with a new layout that displays only billing accounts (parents) and standalone accounts. When users click on a billing/parent account, they will be presented with a new interface where the billing account details are enclosed in an expandable card.

Furthermore, users can click on the card to view the details of that account. Additionally, they can view the sub-accounts associated with that billing/parent account. Users can also register unregistered accounts recognized by Octo via the console. If the stackset has already been configured, users can simply click the "Register Account" button to automatically add the accounts to Octo.
Here’s why: The feature was added to address issues with the previous version, which did not properly account for the naming of accounts or the mandatory addition of sub-accounts. In the previous version, account names were optional, leading to confusion when multiple accounts were listed. Additionally, the registration process for billing accounts was modified to encourage users to add sub-accounts, ensuring seamless integration with Octo.
🆕Unit Cost V6
Enhancement of Cost Group Creation Using Custom Dimensions
The latest enhancement to the cost group creation process introduces a significant improvement to the user experience. Building upon the existing functionality of creating a cost group using custom dimensions, users can now streamline their workflow by directly adding a unit metric during the initial creation of a cost group. This eliminates the need for additional steps or navigating to separate sections to assign a unit metric, saving users valuable time and effort.

Gain a deeper understanding of cost drivers: By visualizing unit metrics alongside cost data, stakeholders can pinpoint the specific factors that influence costs within each cost group.
Make more informed decisions: The addition of unit metrics will offer decision-makers a more complete view of cost and performance, empowering them to make better-informed and more effective decisions.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization: By analyzing unit metrics within the context of cost groups, stakeholders can uncover areas where costs can be optimized without compromising performance.
Track performance over time: The integration of unit metrics will allow stakeholders to monitor the performance of different cost groups over time, identify trends, and proactively address potential issues.
Overall, this enhancement will provide a more granular and nuanced view of cost and performance, empowering stakeholders to make data-driven decisions that drive business value.
