What Is a Nominee?

Updated over 3 months ago

Nominees are the trusted people you choose to access your information only when the time comes, such as in case of incapacity or death. They help carry out your wishes, but they have no legal authority and cannot access anything in your Vault while you are alive and well.

Nominees can be family members, close friends, partners, or anyone you trust. Your ability to add one or multiple nominees depends on your Crux subscription plan.

Key Points About Nominees

  • No real-time access: They cannot see your information before your death.

  • No legal power: Nominees are not legal executors unless separately appointed.

  • Invitation required: They must accept the Crux invitation email to become active.

  • Number of nominees varies: Depends on your Crux plan.

  • Global availability: Nominees can be located anywhere in the world.

Troubleshooting

  • Nominee hasn’t accepted the invite? Ask them to check spam or resend the invite.

  • Nominee email incorrect? Remove the nominee and add them again.

  • Unsure how many nominees you can add? Check your subscription plan.
