WoW Forever professions have a skill cap of 300, and Artisan training needs character level 35. Each profession gets three campsite recipes, and the developers count more than 600 new recipes. For fast leveling, our pick is two gathering professions for gold, plus First Aid, and start a crafting profession when you have spare gold.

World of Warcraft: Forever launches on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST. Most profession facts below come from beta data and fan sites. We found no Blizzard profession page. If you want the full launch plan first, read our WoW Forever leveling guide to level 60.

Each character can have two primary professions, and secondary professions cannot be unlearned (Warcraft Tavern). Our sources report these changes.

Zockify lists four training tiers, each with a character level gate and a skill gate.

The level 35 gate sets your crafting pace. A crafter stops at 225 skill until level 35, so do not spend all your early gold on crafting materials. Gathering materials should cost only time on the route.

Reagent bags now have their own slot, which gives a gatherer more room between trips to town.

The camping system is a major profession change. Zockify says players can create campsites with benefits, and professions craft the objects that go in them. Warcraft Tavern says every profession has three campsite objects, and the first one comes at skill 20.

Camp profession buffs have limits. Warcraft Tavern says camp buffs do not stack with class buffs and are a little weaker. Its example is Kings at 10% against the camp version at 8%.

Our reading of the stacking rule:

Dungeon bosses can drop advanced blueprints, says Warcraft Tavern. The blueprint drops give crafters one more reason to run the dungeons in our WoW Forever dungeons guide with levels and dungeon XP. We found no full list of campsite recipe names and effects.

The developers say Forever adds more than 600 new crafting recipes. Beta datamines count more, and one source counts 861. Zockify gives the per-profession counts below. Treat them as beta figures that can change.

Leatherworking recipes lead the list, then blacksmithing recipes and tailoring recipes. A count says nothing about recipe quality, so wait for launch data before you choose on count alone.

Some early reports promised unique profession passives, such as an alchemy perk called Mixology. Zockify says it could not confirm these bonuses in the current beta data.

The level 30 beta notes, reported by Warcraft Tavern, hold three profession changes.

The beta ends on 22 October on the official roadmap (some sites say 21 October). Values can change before launch. Our WoW Forever release date and beta end guide has the full timeline.

No source we found ranks the professions for leveling. Vendor guides note that Blizzard has not published leveling costs per profession. The picks below are our reasoning from the sourced rules, without test results.

Mining, Herbalism and Skinning should need no bought materials to level. You collect materials on the route you already run, and you can sell them to other players. We expect a gathering pair to give good gold for little time, but no source tests this. Mining with Skinning, or Herbalism with Mining, are two possible pairs. With fewer starter copper nodes in the beta, Herbalism or Skinning may be the easier start.

Cultivation changes the Tauren choice. A Tauren can take Mining and Skinning and still pick herbs. A Tauren can also take Herbalism for double the herb yield.

First Aid and Cooking are secondary professions, so they do not use one of your two primary slots. Bandages let you heal between pulls without a long rest, which matters most for classes without a heal. The datamine shows 17 new First Aid recipes and 44 new cooking recipes.

A crafting profession costs gold while you level. Take one when you have gold to spare, or when you want the early Legacy Point at skill 150. Engineering suits a Gnome, because of Engineering Specialization. Leatherworking and Blacksmithing have the biggest new recipe lists in the datamine.

We found no class-specific profession bonus in our sources. The same logic holds for Shaman professions, Paladin professions and every other class, including the new Undead Paladin. See our WoW Forever talents guide with calculators and leveling picks.

Zockify says Blizzard has no current plans for a WoW Token or paid character boosts, so all your gold comes from play. No Blizzard source gives gold-making rates.

The developers said riding training costs more gold than before, and there is no free mount training at level 40 (reported by MassivelyOP). Blizzard says the Skyborne mount in the Heroic Pack, the Cerulean Prideclaw, needs the riding skill that you buy in the game. Our WoW Forever editions and price guide lists what each pack holds.

Blizzard has not published the mount skill costs. The table shows unofficial fan figures from a Warcraft Tavern riding page.

The same page says Honored reputation gives 10% off. A gathering pair is one way to earn that gold. A Legacy reward called Frequent Flier also cuts flight path costs by 50%, per a Warcraft Tavern snippet.

Do not buy gold or power leveling services. Use your professions and the Auction House.

Professions feed the Legacy system. Warcraft Tavern lists Legacy Points at 150, 225 and 300 skill for each listed profession. An Icy Veins snippet puts 18 of the 65 Legacy Challenges in the Tradeskills category. Your first point can come from level 25, or from 150 skill in a non-gathering profession.

RestedXP is a leveling guide addon, and the planned feature list on its shop page has no profession route. For skill-up steps, use the Wowhead Forever profession guides (Mining, Skinning, Herbalism, Cooking) or the 12 profession guides at Zockify. The RestedXP route does use the Auction House. The 9 October 2026 update added Auction House steps for new consumables and items that speed up quest turn-ins on the Alliance side. The Horde route got more Auction House steps too. The Alliance route also added a Sleeping Bag quest chain.

The shop page lists an Optimized Upgrade Finder for Auction House upgrades as coming soon.

The update says the route has Auction House steps for some items. RestedXP lists no profession route.

Professions can help pay for riding, and your route sets your leveling speed. The RestedXP Forever guide gives you a quest route with an arrow, class-specific steps and Auction House steps. The confirmed profession bonuses are the campsite objects, the Professions Legacy tree and two racial perks: Tauren Cultivation and Gnome Engineering Specialization. Unique profession passives such as Mixology are still unconfirmed.

No source ranks them. Our pick is two gathering professions plus First Aid. Gathering should need no bought materials, and the gold from your sales can help pay for riding.

Blizzard has not published the price. Fan figures put Apprentice Riding at 80 to 100 gold, plus 20 gold for the mount. Treat the figures as estimates until launch.

A campsite is a place that you set up in the world. You place objects that professions craft, and the objects give benefits.

We found no new profession. The beta recipe counts cover the familiar crafting professions, and Wowhead and Zockify list guides for the gathering ones.

Zockify says Blizzard has no current plans for a WoW Token. Gold then comes from play, such as quests, loot and Auction House sales. A gathering pair can add sales while you level.
