The Fanatic Filters laptop needs to be positioned where it can physically connect to your video switcher infrastructure — typically in or near your control room. The laptop requires SDI cables running to and from your switcher, so it needs to be close enough for those cable runs to work. Many venues place the laptop on a table near the switcher, underneath the switcher desk, or in a rack nearby. The laptop doesn't need to be in a position where an operator has constant access to it since Fanatic Filters can run in random mode without intervention, but it does need internet connectivity for initial setup and updates, and it needs power. If space in the control room is tight, consider locations just outside the immediate switcher area where cables can still reach.
