What hardware and computer specifications are required to run FanSee and Fanatic Filters?

Both FanSee and Fanatic Filters require dedicated, high-powered computing equipment due to their real-time video processing demands. Unlike CUE's other browser-based products (Light Show, Polling, PostUP, Trivia Mania), which can run on virtually any laptop or computer, these two products need gaming-level laptops or desktops with enhanced processing capabilities.

FanSee requires a high-powered machine to handle real-time video streaming from multiple fan phone cameras simultaneously, along with facial recognition technology. Fanatic Filters requires similar specifications to process live camera feeds, apply AR filters with facial tracking, and output augmented video in real-time without lag or quality degradation.

CUE can provide the complete hardware package needed for both products, including the laptop, capture devices (such as Magewell capture devices), and any necessary converters (like Blackmagic converters for video output). If you're working with CUE's on-site team, we can bring our own equipment. If your team is operating the products independently, CUE will work with you to ensure you have compatible machines, discuss rental options, or help you acquire appropriate hardware. We typically ask for about four weeks of lead time for onboarding, so ordering equipment early ensures you're ready for your target launch.

For FanSee specifically, you can design and configure the activation from any computer using a Chrome browser while waiting for production hardware to arrive. However, the dedicated laptop is required for running the actual mainboard output to your video board during live events. You can operate FanSee from a single computer with dual monitors, or you can moderate from one computer while sending mainboard output to another. Ensure the mainboard link is only open on one computer at a time to avoid routing issues.

For Fanatic Filters, the dedicated computer must be physically connected to your production infrastructure (usually in or near the control room) to receive camera feeds via SDI or HDMI and output filtered video back to your production switcher. However, you don't need to physically sit at that computer, you can remote into the Fanatic Filters machine from your own laptop elsewhere in the venue or control room.

Your venue simply needs available SDI or HDMI inputs and outputs to connect with CUE's equipment; you don't need specialized graphics software like Ross XPression.
