The cross-converter is a device that converts the HDMI output from the Fanatic Filters laptop back into SDI format so it can be fed into your video switcher. Since the CUE laptop outputs video via HDMI (from a port on the back of the laptop), but most professional broadcast switchers require SDI inputs, the cross-converter bridges that gap. You connect an HDMI cable from the laptop to the HDMI input on the cross-converter, then run an SDI cable from the cross-converter's output to an available input on your switcher. This creates the return path that allows your filtered video to appear as a source you can take to air. The cross-converter is included in the hardware package that CUE ships with your Fanatic Filters system.
