FanSee displays a connection quality indicator (green, orange, or red dot) next to each fan in the queue. Green indicates a strong, stable connection that will look smooth on the video board. Orange means the connection is spotty, and red indicates poor quality that may result in choppy or pixelated video.
While FanSee includes a signal strength filter that can automatically hide fans with weak connections, CUE recommends keeping this filter off and instead manually checking the signal indicator before selecting each fan. The reason is that connection quality is dynamic — someone might start with a poor (red) connection and quickly improve to green, or vice versa. By keeping all fans visible and checking the indicator at the moment you're ready to select someone, you maintain maximum flexibility and can take advantage of connections that stabilize.
As a best practice, prioritize fans with green dots when selecting who to put live. However, don't permanently exclude orange or red connections — sometimes phones take a moment to stabilize, or they may hit temporary network dips that quickly resolve. When there are thousands of participants, you'll have plenty of green dots to work with while keeping your options open.
