Why is the QR code-based Light Show easier for one-off events compared to app-based versions?

For one-off events or situations where there isn't a strong pre-existing digital relationship with attendees, the QR code-based Light Show eliminates significant friction. With app-based Light Shows, event organizers need to communicate extensively before the event through email, social media, and other channels to ensure fans download the app in advance — otherwise participation will be very low. With the QR code version, there's no prior communication required. Fans simply scan a QR code displayed on the venue screens in the moment, accept a couple of quick permissions, and they're ready to participate. This is particularly valuable for events like finals, tournaments, or special occasions where the organizer may not have direct communication channels to all attendees.
