Learn how to add media to stories, both via uploading as well as by using the Cuez Gallery

Updated over 3 months ago

When creating stories, it is very likely that media will be added to it. Whether it is a video or an image, a single one or an entire collection, Storiez allows you to add all the media you need.

Adding media to a story

When opening a story, one of the content sections of the story is 'Media'. When you open this section, already uploaded media will be visible, as well as the option to add more files to the story.

Click the 'Add' button to open the window to add media. At the top left of the screen, two options are available:

  • Upload

  • Cuez Gallery

Upload

On the upload part of the page, media can be uploaded in various ways:

Browse your computer/connected storage

The first option is the one you are probably the most familiar with, which is simply browsing the files on your computer or connected storage to find and select the files you want to upload.

You can select multiple files at once, and all will be uploaded once you confirm.

Drag & drop

Another option would be to drag & drop one or more files to the upload window. In this case you can browse your computer or connected storage directly, select the files you want to upload, and drag them onto the upload window to start the process.

Paste a URL

And finally, you can also paste a URL of an image that you have copied to your clipboard. In this case, paste the url in the 'Paste' field to upload the media.

Cuez Gallery

Once media has been upload to Storiez, no matter in which story that was, it becomes available in the 'Cuez Gallery'. This allows you to easily (re)use previously uploaded media in other stories as needed.

To select media from the Cuez Gallery, scroll and select the files you want, then click 'Add' in the bottom left corner of the screen. The selected media is then added to the story.

Media from News Feeds

Technically, there is a third way of adding media, but this is a process that happens automatically. When you and your team have set up News Feeds, you can create stories from a News Feed item. If that item contains media, that media will be added to the 'Media' section of the story automatically.

Adding a 'poster' image to a story

When creating a story, a thumbnail or 'poster' is added as one of the properties, allowing you to visually recognize stories as well.

For stories created from certain News Feeds, if the feed contains an image, that image is automatically added as the poster for the story.

For stories created manually, or from News Feeds that do not contain an image with the story, no poster is added automatically. In this case, one can be added manually.

To do so, go to the 'Media' section of the story and find the image you want to use as a poster. Next, drag the image from the 'Media' section onto the thumbnail/poster of the story to set that image as the poster.
