What are News Feeds?
News Feeds, or RSS feeds, are feeds of information such as news articles that are provided in a way that is usually designed to be interpreted by a computer/smartphone application.
Storiez allows you to add such News/RSS Feeds to provide you with a source of stories that is ready to be used as part of your content.
How do I add News Feeds to Storiez?
First of all you have to make sure you have access to the news feed URL that you want to add. Many (news) websites offer these URLs for free, but some are part of a paid service.
Once you have the URL, such as for example the BBC Top Stories feed, the News Feed can be added to Storiez either from the News Desk section using the magenta 'News Feeds' tab on the right, or by going to the Storiez settings menu (top right corner) and selecting the 'News Feeds' option. From there follow the steps on screen to enter the details to create the feed in Storiez.
How do I use News Feeds in Storiez?
As a result of the actions above, clicking the magenta 'News Feeds' tab in your News Desk will show you the stories available in the feed you just added.
At the top of the News Feed sidebar, you can click the name of the feed to switch to another News Feed in case you have multiple available.
Next, you can drag a story out of the feed and onto the Calendar, or into 'Breaking', 'Actual', 'Events', 'Pitch',... to start creating content using this information.
If the story from the News Feed content media, it will automatically go under the 'Media' section of the story you created. The source is tracked under the 'Source' section. And so on.
From there, you can then continue creating your own story/content based on the story from the News Feed.
