Platform Guide for Guardians

This guide covers everything you'll need to know about the new Curious Cardinals platform! We will explain the platform section by section. Feel free to use the links below to go to a specific section directly:

Your Students

Your Students section shows all the student accounts currently linked to your guardian account.

As their guardian,

  1. you can manage all your students' sessions and user profiles and get more mentors for your student.

  2. You should receive the same session notifications (such as confirmation and cancellation emails) as all your students unless you have text/email notifications turned off in your user settings.

  3. All your students' sessions are billed to your account.

💡 If you ever need to remove a student from your account, please send the request to the Help Bot or email us at support@curiouscardinals.com with the request!

Add a Student

To add a student, simply click the "Add a Student" button and you will be able to set up the student account for them. Please share the password with them directly and securely afterward so they can log in.

  • If they want to reset their password, they can use the "Forget your password" function on the log-in page to reset their it.

💡 If your student is too young and doesn't have an email, please contact us to help set up your account. You can then use your guardian account to manage all your student's sessions. You can contact us using the Help Bot or email us at support@curiouscardinals.com

Invite my student to set up their own account

  • If your student has already created an account with us, you can use the "Invite student to set up their own account by email" option. Make sure to use the email address the student used when signing up:

The invited student will receive notifications from us, and can set up the guardian Curious Cardinals account with us through the link provided in the email! Once completed, your student will appear under the Your Students section.

Cancel Student Invitation

If you have a pending invitation and want to cancel the invitation, simply use the "Cancel Invitation" to do so!

Upcoming Sessions

The Upcoming Sessions section shows all the scheduled upcoming sessions for all your students.

Don't see a session? Contact your mentor so they can schedule your sessions. You can easily find your mentors and email them from Your Engagements section!

Join a Session

Joining a session is simple! Just click the “Join Session” button from the session you want to join, and you will be able to join your session Zoom meeting.

💡 Note that:

  • The "Join Session" button will turn green and become clickable 15 minutes before the scheduled session's start time.

  • You will enter a video call waiting room until your mentor lets you in. If you have any trouble joining, please contact your mentor directly!

Cancel a Session

If you need to cancel a session, you can do so directly on the platform. Use the button shown below, and you will find the option to cancel a session.

💡 Note that:

  • Once a session is cancelled, it will be removed from everyone's calendar.

  • if you cancel a session within 24 hours of the session start time. You will be charged for the full session!

Your Engagements

This is the section where you can see all your students' current engagements!

Email a Mentor

If you ever need to contact a mentor, you can use the email button. Clicking this button will open up a draft in your email with your mentor added as the recipient.

See Session Notes

As your student progresses through their learning journey, you can always follow along with their growth by accessing their mentor’s feedback and notes on our platform!

You can access all session notes for each engagement using the "Session Notes" button:

💡 Note that:

  • If you don't see session notes for your session, check with your mentor to see if they have posted them yet!

  • Throughout your student’s engagement, we will also check in with you to receive any additional feedback or input you might have. We are here to support you and your student and ensure they have the most impactful and inspiring experience possible.

Help Bot 🤖

If you ever need to reach us, the Curious Cardinals team, the easiest and quickest way is through the little Help Bot that you will find at the bottom-right of the platform:
