Editing the Duration of an Ad

Control how long your ad runs by adjusting clip length, extending the timeline, or combining multiple clips. Ads can be extended up to 2 minutes.

How to Edit Duration

  1. Select the ad you wish to edit and click Edit Ad.

  2. Go to the bottom right corner of the editor and use the green timeline bar to zoom out — this gives you a wider view of your full timeline.

  3. In the timeline, hover over the background element. This will be highlighted in yellow.

  4. Drag the right edge of the background element to extend the duration of your ad. You can drag it out to a maximum of 2 minutes.

  5. Once you have extended the timeline, adjust your other elements to fill the new duration.

  6. To reposition any element in the timeline, select it either on the ad canvas or directly in the timeline, then drag it to the desired position.

Trim a video or audio clip

Trim mode lets you choose exactly which part of a video or audio clip plays in your ad, whether the clip is your background video or a video placed in an image slot. Use it when you want to skip a section of footage or start an audio track from a specific point.

To trim a video clip:

  1. Double-click any video clip in the timeline, including a background clip or a video placed in an image slot. The editor switches to a fullscreen filmstrip view.

  2. Drag the left handle to set the start point and the right handle to set the end point. You can also drag the ends of the clip's row directly in the timeline without opening the filmstrip view.

  3. Press Enter to confirm your selection, or press Escape to cancel.

You can also open Trim mode by right-clicking a clip and selecting Trim clip, or by selecting a clip and using the trim control in the timeline clip toolbar.

To trim an audio clip:

  1. Double-click the audio layer in the timeline. The editor switches to a waveform view.

  2. Drag the left and right handles to set your start and end points.

  3. Press Enter to confirm, or press Escape to cancel.

While Trim mode is active, the sidebar, topbar, and timeline are hidden. Only the clip preview and trim controls are visible.

Combining Multiple Clips

  1. Hover over the edge of a timeline element until a white + appears.

  2. Click the + and select another asset from your albums to add it to the timeline.

Splitting a clip at the playhead

  1. Select the clip you want to split in the timeline.

  2. Drag the playhead (the position marker) to the point where you want to cut.

  3. Click Split in the floating toolbar. The clip splits at the playhead, dividing into two halves at that point.

Both halves retain the same source media and crop settings. To undo the split, press Cmd + Z (Mac) or Ctrl + Z (Windows).

Notes

  • The maximum duration for a Cuttable ad is 2 minutes.

  • Adjustments only affect the ad you are editing — your original assets remain unchanged.
