How to Train Using Downloaded Videos
Updated over 3 years ago

In this article, you will learn how to set up your Android device so that you can train using Myndlift with videos stored locally on your device, in addition to streaming videos from YouTube.

**Downloading videos to your device is available for Android users only.

This is a useful feature for clients who want to train using video files that they downloaded but are not available on YouTube. It is also helpful for clients who have slow internet and encounter difficulties streaming videos. Please note that the client still needs an internet connection in order to train using Myndlift.

In order to enable local video training, follow these steps:

1. Connect the tablet to the computer where the files are stored using a USB cable.

2. On your computer, open the file explorer for the tablet.

3. Create a folder in the file explorer called "Myndlift_Videos". This folder must be located in the "root" folder on the storage of the tablet or in an external storage card (SD card). Videos not in the Myndlift_Videos folder will not be available for training.

The "root" folder is the base folder of the storage of your device.

4. Transfer video files into the folder.

Local video training will become available once the folder has been created on the tablet's storage and contains at least one video file. When the client clicks on the "Video" training option, they will be asked if they want to use a downloaded video or stream a video from YouTube.

Please note that the following are the only supported video formats that can be used: MKV, MP4, GP3, WebM

If the local videos option is not appearing, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and check that the app has permission to access the media files.

Please note that local videos provide simultaneous visual and audio feedback during training.
