How to set up a table in the Form Builder on Gearbelt

Learn how to set up tables in your Gearbelt form templates

To add a table in your Gearbelt form template, follow these steps:

1. Access the Form Builder for the relevant form template

2. Select the Table form widget, and drag it to its desired location in your template

3. Click on your Table field. A pane should open on the right-hand side to customise your table:

  • Label: Give it a clear title (e.g. “Inspection Results” or “Work Log”)

  • Description: Optional, can provide more information on what type of data is expected in the table

  • Table Alias: Optional

  • Minimum Rows and Maximum Rows: Set how many rows can be added when completing a form

  • Checkbox 'Required': Tick to make this field required when completing a form

  • Checkbox 'Show Table Header': Tick to show the table header in forms

  • Add Columns: Click 'Add Column' to create and name your table columns, and determine the type of cells. Choose from input types like:

    • Text

    • Number

    • Checkbox

    • Date

    • Time

    • Asset

    • Location

    • Dropdown

  • Reorder Columns: Drag and drop to reorder as needed

4. Click 'Save' to apply your changes. Your table is now part of the form and ready to use
