Dropdown lists can be used in your Gearbelt templates to allow users to select items. The lists can be sourced from your recorded lists (see here how to create lists) or manually set up in the template.

To add a dropdown list in your Gearbelt form template, follow these steps:

1. Access the relevant form template

2. Drag and drop a Dropdown field to its desired location in your form template

3. When clicking on it, a pane will open on the right-hand side. From there, you'll be able to customise:

  • Label: This will be your field name

  • Description: Allows you to provide further information on the type of data expected in this field

  • Required Checkbox: To make this field required when completing a form

  • Allow multiple selection Checkbox: To allow users to select multiple items from the list

  • Source: What data will users be selecting in the list

    • Static Options: Manually entered items. These are set when creating or editing the form template, by entering them in the 'Options:' text box

    • Linked List: It will pull from the lists recorded on your workspace in the Lists section
