The template versioning starts at version 1, when you first create a template. If you edit a template and save changes (by adding/removing fields, renaming or rearranging fields, changing the template settings, or changing the workflow columns), the template version will up-rev ie. version 2, 3, 4, etc.

Downloaded PDFs

When you download a form in Dashpivot as a PDF, the template version information is displayed in the header of the PDF. This allows you to keep track of the versioning when the form is taken out of the system, since subsequent changes can still be made online in Dashpivot, but will not be reflected on the downloaded PDF.

Template Versioning - System Update

This system update is a clean up of the notification logic within templates that updates the versioning of the template. This change was made in preparation for the actions feature.

View Template History

To view all changes made to a template over time, you can access the Template History, where you can see each version and compare edits.

To access the Template History, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Home Folder (or Team folder where the template was created if you created the template at the Team folder level)

2. Select your template > Edit Template

3. Select the hamburger menu, next to the three dots in the top right corner of the screen

4. This will open a panel on the right-hand side of the screen, where you'll be able to see every version of the template

5. Clicking on 'Edited $versionNumber' beneath the name of the person who made changes lets you compare that version with the one immediately before it

Note:

  • At this stage, the Template History cannot be exported

  • To revert your template to a previous version, please reach out to a member of our team via our Live Chat
