Multiple Choice and Dropdown List fields in Dashpivot Web allow form users to select one or more options from a list. These fields help standardise responses, reduce free-text entry, and support consistent reporting. They are configured during template editing and completed by users when filling out forms.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: Not specified

  • Permission: Organisation Controller or Project Controller

  • Skills Required: Dashpivot

  • Device Type: Computer

  • Subscription: Dashpivot

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the template you want to edit in the Template Editor.

  2. Locate the Multiple Choice or Dropdown List field in the field list.

  3. Drag the required field into the template.

    Manual Typed options

  4. Ensure the Manual Typed option is selected for the field.

  5. Enter an option into the text field.

  6. Select Add list item to add the option to the list or press enter.

  7. Repeat this process to add additional options.

  8. Select Edit to update an option or select X to remove an option if required.

    Linked List options

  9. Ensure the required list has already been created in the Lists section of Dashpivot.

  10. Ensure the Link to a List option is selected for the field.

  11. Select the dropdown to view available lists and choose the relevant list.

  12. Review the preview of list items shown below the field.

Notes and Tips

  • Multiple Choice fields display all options directly in the form, making it easier for users to compare choices.

  • Dropdown List fields display options within a selectable dropdown menu, helping save space in the form layout.

  • Use Multiple Choice when you want users to quickly see all available options.

  • Use Dropdown Lists when the number of options is larger or when you want a more compact layout.
