π Overview
Now that you have set up your credit card reader and connected it to the software, you're ready to start bringing in the money! In this article, you can find the steps to take payments on the website and in the app!
π³ Take a Card Payment
Learn how to process a card payment through the website or the mobile app.

Click on the +Create button at the top left of the appointment book.
Select New Appointment or New Transaction - selecting New Transaction will skip the appointment and go straight to the payment screen
In the first search bar, search for an existing client, create a new client, or leave the client search blank for a walk-in.
The second search bar is for the Products and Services.
Once your service is added, you can adjust the appointment time and price if needed. For a test payment, we recommend changing the price to $1.00
After you have everything added for the appointment, you can click Schedule in the upper right corner, or proceed to payments if there is no appointment being scheduled.
From the checkout page, click Proceed to Payments.
Click on Credit under Payment Methods.
Click on one of the options below to finish the payment.

To take a payment manually, click on Enter card information
Enter a tip under Tip Amount and click Add, or click Skip to skip the tip portion and move on to the payment.
Under Enter Card Number, enter the Card Number, Expiration Date, Security Code, and Zip Code of the card being used
If you want the card saved on file, check the option for Keep card on file
β οΈ Please Note: The Keep card on file option will not be visible for walk-in clients.
Click Process Card
The screen will load while the transaction is processing
Review the transaction from the Order Summary and click Close Ticket.
You can send a receipt via email if you'd like, or tap Skip Receipt.
When the screen shows Transaction Complete!, select the Calendar option to return to the website.
π³Credit Card Reader Payment

From the checkout page, click Proceed to Payments.
Click the Credit button.
Wait for the device to show Connected, then click Process Card.
A window will pop up while a signal is sent to the device for checkout. Follow device prompts.
The device will prompt for Tip - Present to your client for them to select from one of the options.
After the tip is selected, the client will be presented with their total amount due.
The client can insert their credit card into the slot at the bottom, swipe from the top, or tap using their card or smartphone/watch (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Android Pay).
To split the tip, click the +Add Tip button to select another employee and enter the amount for each.
Once the transaction is successful, the device will show Approved, and the web page will return to checkout.
From the webpage, click Close Ticket to finalize the payment.
You can send yourself a receipt via email if you'd like, or tap Skip Receipt.
When the screen shows Transaction Complete!, select the Calendar option to return to the Appointment Book.

Tap the plus sign + in the bottom right corner.
Select an existing client, create a new client, or choose Walk In.
You can adjust the appointment date and time by tapping on Date or Time.
Tap Services and Products, then +Add Service or +Add Product, and search for the items you'd like to add
After you have everything added, tap Book Appointment at the bottom.
When the time of the appointment comes, tap the slot to check in, and when the client is ready to pay, tap the appointment again and select Check Out.
Under Payment Details, click Credit Card.
Click on one of the options below to finish the payment.

Under Process Card With, tap Manual Card Entry.
Select a preset tip from the tip screen, or tap No Tip to proceed to the payment.
From the Enter Card Details screen, enter the Card Number, Expiration Date, Security Code, and Zip code of the card being used.
Tap Pay.
You have now successfully taken your payment! π
You can send a receipt via email if you'd like, or tap Skip Receipt to return to the app.

Under Process Card With, select the device (the device may be named differently based on how it was set up).
The app will let you know it's connecting to the reader for payment.
Once connected, the Cardholder can select their tip amount on the device screen.
The client can insert their credit card into the slot at the bottom, swipe from the top, or tap using their card or smartphone/watch (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Android Pay).
You have now successfully taken your payment! π

Turn the device on
Under Process Card With, select the device (the device could be named something different during setup)
You will be prompted to enter a tip.
Once the Amount Due page appears, tap, swipe, or insert the card:
Tap card/phone (Apple Pay/Google Pay) at the top of the device
Insert at the bottom.
Swipe option at the top on the backside.
The device will beep once and light up to let you know it was successful
Two beeps indicate the transaction failed or was canceled.
You have now successfully taken your payment! π
Once complete, you will be prompted to send a receipt via email, print, or skip.

Before getting started with Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android, please make sure to review Mobile Tap to Pay Requirements and FAQs.
From Checkout, tap Credit Card under Add Payment.
Under Process Card With, tap Tap to Pay on [iPhone/Android]
Note: On the very first use of Tap to Pay on iPhone, the user will be prompted to link their Apple ID with Tap to Pay on iPhone.
You will then be prompted to add a tip.
The Tap to Pay screen will then be presented. The total cost of the transaction will be displayed on the screen. Your client can either hover their card horizontally at the top or hold their phone over the screen. This will work on the front or back of the device.
After a successful transaction, the phone will chime and say "Done"!
You have now successfully taken your payment! π
The final screen will ask if they want their receipt emailed, printed, or skipped.

Click Checkout on the appointment.
If you're not seeing checkout, please make sure they are already checked in.
If you're still not seeing checkout:
Click Appt Details
Use the Actions drop-down menu from the top right.
Click Checkout
If everything looks correct, click Proceed to payment.
Choose the option for Credit for Payment Method.
Check the box for Keep card on file.
Enter card information manually using the Enter card information option, or process the card through your terminal

Click on the appointment from the Appointment Book.
Click Checkout
If you're not seeing checkout, please make sure they are already checked in.
If you're still not seeing checkout
Click Appt Details
Use the Actions drop-down menu from the top right.
Click Checkout
From Checkout, click Proceed to Payments.
Under Payment Methods, you'll find the Saved Cards section.
Click on Use this card.
Confirm the amount and click Process Card.
A window will pop up to process the card.
Once complete, click Close Ticket

From Checkout, tap Credit Card under Add Payment.
Under Cards On File, tap the existing card.
A confirmation pop-up will appear asking if you'd like to charge the card on file. Tap Yes to proceed.
You'll then have the option to add a tip using the saved card or select No Tip to skip this step.
Once you've made your selection for a tip, the card will be charged, and the transaction will be complete!

We don't recommend refunding your first test transaction, as this starts your 7-day payment hold. Refunding the transaction will not trigger this period to start. We want to ensure you get your funds as soon as possible!
