Supported Tax Filings

  • Employer's Quarterly Reconciliation of Income Tax Withheld (Ohio IT 941)

  • Wage & Tax Statement (W-2)

Required for Tax Setup

  1. Withholding Account Number (8 digits, e.g., 51 234567)

  2. Filing Frequency (Partial-weekly, Monthly, or Quarterly)

Third Party Administrator (TPA) Access

DaySmart Payroll needs granted TPA access to pay and file this tax. Follow the instructions below to ensure there are no delays in processing:

  1. Log into your tax account at https://business.gateway.ohio.gov/login

  2. Click the padlock icon at the top right of the page

  3. Go to the Account Access Requests tab

  4. The access request will be at the top of the page. DaySmart Payroll must be assigned as the Filing Administrator

Where do I find my Ohio withholding account number?

Your Ohio Withholding Account Number is an 8-digit number formatted as 51 234567. It is assigned by the Ohio Department of Taxation when you register and can be found on agency correspondence or by logging into the Ohio Business Gateway.

What role does DaySmart Payroll need for Ohio TPA access?

DaySmart Payroll must be assigned the Filing Administrator role in the Ohio Business Gateway. Without this role, filings and payments cannot be submitted on your behalf. The access request will appear in your Account Access Requests tab after DaySmart Payroll initiates the request.

What if my city or county has a local withholding tax?
