Supported Blockchains on Deblock
Deblock currently supports the following blockchain networks (including Layer 2 networks):
Bitcoin
Ethereum
Solana
Base
Arbitrum
Polygon
Hyperliquid
Spark
BSC
XRP
Cardano (ADA)
For Ethereum and compatible networks, Deblock also supports ERC-20 tokens such as USDT, USDC, etc.
Key Properties of Blockchain Transactions:
Blockchain transactions are immutable and irreversible. Once confirmed, they cannot be canceled or modified. This ensures security but also means that errors are permanent.
What Happens When Funds Are Sent to the Wrong Network?
If cryptocurrency is sent to the wrong network, the funds remain on the network where the transaction was broadcast. They are not lost, but they are only accessible from that specific network.
For example:
Base Network: If you sent ETH to an Ethereum address on the Base network, the funds are associated with the same address on Base. You can access them by switching to the Base network in your wallet.
Arbitrum: If you sent ETH to Arbitrum instead of Ethereum mainnet, the funds will only appear on Arbitrum. You can verify the transaction on an Arbitrum block explorer and access them by switching to the Arbitrum network.
Recovery Options
While blockchain transactions cannot be reversed, recovery may be possible depending on your situation:
Contact the Recipient: If the funds were sent to a wallet you or the intended recipient control, you can request the funds to be returned. This requires their cooperation and access to the destination wallet.
Work with the Receiving Platform: If the funds were sent to an external platform (e.g., an exchange) on the wrong network, contact their support team with the transaction hash and recipient address so they can assess recovery options. Note that recovery depends on the platform's policies.
Use a Blockchain Bridge: If you control the receiving wallet and need the funds on a different network, you can use a blockchain bridge to transfer them. This is a separate process and is not automatic.
Access via a Third-Party Wallet: If the destination network is not yet supported by Deblock, you can access your funds by importing your Deblock wallet into a third-party provider that supports that network. See the step-by-step guide below.
Step-by-Step: Recovering Funds via a Third-Party Wallet
If the funds are on a network not supported by Deblock, follow these steps to recover them.
1. Choose a Compatible Wallet Provider
Look for a wallet provider that supports the chain your token was sent to. Many web-based wallet providers support multiple networks and can be installed as a browser extension on your PC.
2. Export Your Private Keys from Deblock
🚨 Be careful with your private key. Anyone with access to the key has access to the assets in your wallet. YOUR KEYS, YOUR WALLET, YOUR RISK.
Export your private key from Deblock and keep it somewhere safe. You will need it in the next step.
3. Import Your Wallet into the Third-Party Provider
Use your exported private key to import your Deblock wallet into the third-party provider, using the account import option.
4. Add the Correct Network
Make sure your wallet provider is connected to the network your token was sent to. There are usually two ways to do this:
Option 1 — Add via a block explorer:
Find the token in question on the relevant block explorer.
Look for an option to add the network directly to your wallet provider (often found at the bottom of the token page).
Approve the network addition and switch to it.
Confirm you are on the correct network before proceeding.
Option 2 — Add manually:
Search online for the network details (RPC URL, chain ID, currency symbol, etc.).
Enter these details manually in your wallet provider's network settings.
5. Add the Token to Your Wallet
Once on the correct network, you will see the network's default native currency. If you need to recover a different token, add it manually:
Find the token on the block explorer.
Copy the token contract address from the token's page.
In your wallet provider, go to the token import section.
Paste the contract address and confirm the token details are correct.
Import the token — your balance should now be visible.
6. Transfer the Token Back to the Original Wallet
You can now send the token back to its origin. Note that you will need a small amount of the network's native currency to cover transaction fees.
If you already have native currency — you can transfer the token directly.
If you don't have native currency — send a small amount to your wallet address first to cover the fees.
7. Remove Your Wallet from the Third-Party Provider
Once all assets have been recovered, remove your wallet from the third-party provider for security. This ensures no one else can gain access to your funds.
If you choose to keep your wallet in the third-party provider, do not use it for any other purposes, as this is prohibited by Deblock and may result in account closure.
Why Deblock Cannot Reverse Transactions
Deblock is a non-custodial wallet, meaning users have full control over their funds and transactions. As a result:
Deblock cannot act as an intermediary to reverse or recover transactions.
Deblock has no access to external platforms or their networks.
Blockchain transfers are irreversible by design, and Deblock cannot override this property.
Prevention Tips
To avoid sending cryptocurrency to the wrong network or address in the future:
Verify Network Compatibility: Before sending funds, ensure the destination wallet supports both the token and the blockchain network you are using.
Double-Check Details: Carefully review the recipient address and network selection before confirming any transaction.
Use Wallet Features: Many wallets display the network associated with a token. In Deblock, you can identify a token's network by the small icon at the bottom-right of the token icon.
