Performing an employers Right to Work via Deploi
You can now use Deploi’s platform to perform an employer’s right to work check on your candidates. This means that you’ll be able to request, validate and store your employee’s proof of right to work in adherence to employment law, giving your company a statutory excuse.
It couldn’t be simpler to get started: Simply choose ‘employer’s right to work’ as a check by itself or in combination with BS7858 at the point of requesting a candidate. They will then be prompted to choose their relevant right to work document and provide documentation which can be checked by you in the Customer Portal.
There are three flows they can choose from, based on the documents they have:
The Digital Route
For valid British and Irish passports
We’ve partnered with Yoti to perform approved digital checks through Deploi. This means that if your candidate has an eligible document, they will be asked to scan the passport and then their face in order to confirm their identity.
You will then be required to go into the portal and confirm that you have seen the document and that you’re happy that it is valid and authentic.
The Share Code Route
For visas, and those that have previously used BRPs
When a candidate indicates that they use a share code to perform their right to work check, they will be prompted to input this code into their application. Once they’ve submitted, this share code will become available to you and you can use it to perform their check on the government portal.
You must then download the pdf provided, and upload it into Deploi. The pdf may have an expiry date on it, you can input the date into Deploi to keep track of your workforce’s compliance status.
Please note: some of these documents will limits for working hours as a result of visa restrictions. These cannot be recorded on Deploi and need to be adhered to in order to comply with the law.
Finally, you will be required to go into the portal and confirm that you have seen the document and that you’re happy that it is valid and authentic.
Any Other Document Route
For anything that isn’t a valid British or Irish passport, or share code
Some candidates don’t have access to a valid passport, and aren’t eligible for a share code. These people will need to show you their document and allow you to verify that it is valid, authentic and likely to be them.
