Candidates need to be able to undergo an SIA licence check, a DBS check, or a Police check. The most common route is for their SIA badge to be verified, and in this case they do not need to do a DBS check unless this is specifically required for the role.
The only reason a candidate may need to do a DBS or Police check instead is if they are non frontline staff (or non-security) and still wish to undergo a full BS:7858 check. If this is the case, Deploi can perform these checks for you - please speak to your account manager if you require this.
In order to successfully perform an SIA licence check, you will need to confirm that the licence number provided by the candidate through their application form is valid and associated with that candidate. This must be done by reviewing the SIA database online (a link to which can be found in the screening portal), and saving a screenshot to your file. Deploi will automatically perform this for you, and mark the check as complete.
Deploi also scrapes the SIA database to add any and all relevant licences held by that candidate, so as to reduce admin burden and give you the full picture of that candidate’s qualifications.
Candidates are prompted to upload images of the front and back of their licence but this is not required to pass screening but useful to have on file. You may amend these images if you wish.
