Handling missing information

As a result of the complex requirements of BS7858 and the unique circumstances of each person, candidates will rarely provide the correct information in their initial submission if they haven’t had any introduction to the process.

You may want to amend your hiring process to allow for more specific qualifying questions or information gathering. If you’d like more guidance on this, you can reach out to your account manager.

Deploi’s system takes the approach of allowing candidates to provide an initial submission, then working with them to correct and add information from there.

You can choose to incorporate this process, or to work with candidates at the point of application.

Any information can be amended or added from within the screener portal, if you have the correct permissions. Alternatively, your candidate can provide more information post-submission. If you’re awaiting more information, you can change the status to:

  • Awaiting documentation (to indicate that more data has been requested from the candidate)

  • Awaiting Third Party (to indicate that the candidate is not able to give more information, and that any further data is required from a party such as a reference or DBS organisation)

It’s generally best practice to avoid removing information until you’re sure that you're able to clear the candidate- this helps with audits and ensures data that may become useful later isn’t deleted prematurely. To help keep this clear, you can approve and reject documents within each module’s screening card. Rejected documents won’t show up in the candidate’s final report.
